City Provides 1 Vaccine Slot for Person Accompanying 2 Elderly People for Vaccination

Jakata Government through Health Agency facilitates vaccination for people who take two elderly people for vaccination. It is done as an effort to facilitate vaccination access for all people, both elderly and non-elderly in Jakarta, as well as government's commitment to increase herd immunity during the pandemic.

Jakarta Health Agency Head, Widyastuti mentioned, non-elderly people aged 18-59 years who accompany two elderly people to register for first COVID-19 vaccination will also get access to vaccine. This program is also carried out to quickly meet the target of vaccination program for elderly. Until April 11, first dose vaccines have been given to 526,687 elderly people (57.8%) and second dose vaccines to 173,234 elderly people (19.0%) with vaccination target of 911.631 elderly people.

"We want to make it easier for elderly during vaccination process. Because registration is carried out online, so elderly surely needs companion for technical implementation. Apart from that, we are trying to do our best thus vaccination target for elderly can be met quickly," she asserted, Monday (4/12).

For information, people who want to take vaccination can register online through dki.kemenkes.go.id. For those who have Jakarta ID card (KTP) can go directly to all health facilities in Jakarta and register themselves for vaccination in there. While people with KTP outside Jakarta can visit vaccination locations at Istora and Tennis Indoor in Senayan.

Her side also provided other vaccination sites in Jakarta, such as Presidential Palace, Jakarta City Hall, Mayor Offices, Sub-district Offices, DPR/DPRD, RPTRA, malls, markets, hotels, guest houses, parks, private and vertical hospitals, TNI/Police hospitals, regional hospitals, special hospitals, clinics, urban village and sub-district health centers, mobile health center, schools (kindergarten-senior high), Istora/GOR, private/state-owned office buildings, and drive-thru. Jakarta Government also provides shuttle service for elderly using school buses and Transjakarta buses in several regions since the vaccination sites are quite far away.

People who have been vaccinated are urged to continue implementing strict health protocols, namely wearing mask, washing hands regularly with soap and running water or clean their hands with hand sanitizer, maintaining safe distance with others, reducing mobility, and avoiding crowds.
